Chad Laughrey,
Senior Minister

Chad was born near Chicago, Illinois but was raised near Wichita, Kansas. He has a Bachelor's in Biblical Literature from Ozark Christian College and a Master of Arts in Religion from Cincinnati Christian Seminary. Chad married his lovely wife, Boston, in June of 2002. He also has four beautiful girls: Haven, Annabelle, Samantha (Sam), and Chloe. Chad and his family moved to Kearney and began serving at Countryside in May of 2008.

Chad's loves to read, participate in small groups, and play with his girls. He also loves football, college wrestling, basketball, golf, chess and art. Yet his greatest joy is helping believers to get excited about living for Christ and to help them grow in their knowledge and love for Him.

Jeff Thompson, Youth Minister

Jeff was born and raised in Nebraska and grew up in the Christian Church in North Platte. Jeff attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney and earned a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice in 1997. Jeff spent the next seven years working in the Juvenile Corrections field.

In October of 2004 Jeff and his wife Angie accepted the call to full time ministry and joined the staff at Countryside as the Youth Minister. They love to share their faith and their lives with young people. Jeff and Angie have two children Alyssa and Amaya.

Jeff finds great joy in hanging out with his girls, playing sports, occasional blogging (check it out at jstlsn.wordpress.com) and most of all being a “nobody from nowhere being used by God to reach anyone from anywhere with the message of Christ.

Christie Weinberg,
Administrative Assistant

Christie was raised in “heaven on earth” also know as Wyoming. She attended Nebraska Christian College in Norfolk, NE where she met and later married Terry. After moving around the country to several areas, they decided to make their home in the Kearney area. Christie attended Central Community College where she got her LPN degree in 1995. They have 3 children, Aaron (who is married to Cheryl), Rebecca and Josh (who is married to Rachel) and also two grand-daughters, Keira and Kyla.

Christie has been the administrative assistant since October 2003. She values and enjoys her time at Countryside Christian Church.
